Our challenging times with Covid-19

Hoping that you and your loved ones are safe and well and remain that way! Stay safe; isolate at home if you can and, wherever possible, wash your hands. Our best defense against this novel Coronavirus is to stop its spread via community transmission which includes touching, coughing and sneezing. If you have a high temperature then you’re definitely a potential risk to others, in which case you need to self-isolate; get tested, relax and let somebody else do the chores whilst you watch TV, lol.

Seriously, we’re all facing a challenging time right now across so many industries and roles, including those of us who work in medical sales - we are also classed as ‘essential workers’ and for good reason – quite simply because of the unique and highly important support role that we play. In an unprecedented move we now see the united force of both public and private hospitals in Australia working together, with an exchange of medical staff and equipment and a sharing of resources to ensure the long-term safety and wellbeing of our patients going forward. Our involvement and support as medical reps has never been more important than right now!

Covid-19 will last for a while, but on the other side there will be an enormous appetite for ‘business as usual’ and that’s where all hospitals, public and private, will require our attention more than ever for product detailing; staff training, case support and much more. Honestly, it feels so good to be part of a team that work so hard, for the long-term welfare of others.

A huge ‘thank-you’ to all our doctors, nursing staff and other allied healthcare workers (such as paramedics; radiographers; physiotherapists; dieticians; chiropractors; cytologists; medical scientists; psychologists; phlebotomists; care-workers; mental health nurses, and so many more).
